ok, so i post this article to contrast american “hook up” culture with french dating. in france you don’t hook up and move on — you hook up and then you’re dating. sex comes way before love — though everyone in france is in some kind of relationship. i wonder if the french will adopt the casual hook up, or if americans will begin to see sex as the beginning...

Today I had lunch with a beautiful family. I’m going to tutor Charlotte and Mathilde every Wednesday. Charlotte is 9 and Mathilde is 11. They’re into animals, art, going to restaurants and movies and rhythmic gymnastics. They have two seven year old twin sisters who love to ask how to say words like “sock” in English.
